Traralgon Bowls Club Roll Up Program @ Traralgon Bowls Club

Roll Up is calling all junior bowlers! Get in the game with Roll Up!

Roll Up is a Bowls Victoria junior program running at bowls clubs around the state. The Traralgon Bowls Club will be running a 4 week social lawn bowls program, aimed at 9 to 17-year-olds.

Roll Up is designed to get more young people active through sport and has been developed in conjunction with VicHealth. Roll Up allows kids to learn and build their confidence in lawn bowls by providing a supportive, relaxed, social and fun environment. Food, drink and equipment provided.

Sessions times: Wednesday March 10 from 4:30pm – 5:30pm in the indoor centre, Wednesday March 17 from 4:30pm – 5:30pm in the indoor centre, Wednesday March 24 from 4:30pm – 5:30pm in the indoor centre Wednesday March 31 from 4:30pm – 5:30pm in the indoor centre.

Morwell Golf Club Chicken Run @ Morwell Golf Club

Every Thursday from October 8th until April 1st, get involved in the Morwell Golf Club Summer Daylight Saving Chicken Run.

$5 for members and $8 for non-members. Under 15 years free, if accompanied by an adult.

This 9 hole competition is designed to encourage family and friends to play golf at any time of the day on a Thursday.

Keenages Table Tennis @ Newborough Leisure Centre

The Moe / Newborough Keenagers Table Tennis group meet every Monday & Thursday from 9:30am to 11.30am at the Latrobe Leisure Centre. You must be over 55 to attend and the cost is only $4. This covers the court hire and you can also receive a Coffee or Tea afterwards.

Moe / Newborough Keenagers Table Tennis Club was established in 2006 as a non-profit organisation with the purpose of providing participation, recreation and a social outlet for older residents and retirees in the Moe / Newborough area who would like a game of table tennis.

Currently the Club has 96 members (in pre-covid times we had over 120 members the most of any club in country Victoria).

The Club promotes a relaxed, social and friendly atmosphere which attracts people to play table tennis, from not just Moe, but many of the neighbouring municipalities.

Details of Keenagers table tennis are:

  • Club plays at the Latrobe Leisure Centre, Old Sale Road, Newborough.
  • Sessions are held Monday and Thursday from 9.30am to 11.30am
  • Session fees are $4.00, with an annual Insurance fee of $10.00. New Members, after the first three sessions who wish to join the Club, then must pay the $10.00.
  • Table tennis is social stress-free recreation with no pennant competition structure and the opportunity to interact with like-minded people.
  • Playing table tennis also provides a healthy lifestyle through coordination, balance, flexibility and the ability to exercise the mind.

Cinema Pop Up @ Trafalgar Primary School

Cinema Pop Up is a community based event hosting family friendly, Covid safe movies under the stars for four nights only.
Tickets must be booked online and are limited, due to Covid protocols. Kids tickets are free, with adult tickets only $5 each. VIP tickets are also available and limited with a covered bean bed, reserved spot and small popcorn for just $25.
Cinema Pop Up is an outdoor family event which allows for picnics and also provides a licensed bar and candy bar.
Tickets will be limited and available for sale 10th February. Stay tuned for more updates as they arise.

Men’s Social Kitchen @ Morwell Neighbourhood House

Cooking is good therapy. This is a small group of men who come together weekly to cook and share a meal. Get out of the house, meet new people , cook and share a meal together.
Places are limited so bookings are essential.

Coal Creek Farmers Market @ Coal Creek Car Park

A community-run farmers’ market, supported by the South Gippsland Shire Council on the second Saturday each month, from 8am until 1pm, in the Coal Creek Community Park and Museum carpark, Korumburra, South Gippsland.

We have a great mix of seasonal produce available, and it will change every month depending what’s growing in Victoria. Come along and support our growers.

Every month you’ll find: Local and organic vegies, fruit, herbs, nuts, free range eggs, locally caught fish, olives and olive oil, wine, honey, sourdough breads, preserves, chutneys, jams, goats cheese, roses, fresh pasta and plants.

CWA Break The Scone Record @ Morwell Historical Society

The Morwell Evening CWA Branch, along with other branches, are trying to break the 2019 Royal Melbourne Show Record of 15,665 scones sold!

Available for the scone drive are plain scones $1.50 each and date scones $2. Additional baked goods and a recipe book will also be available from the pop up shop on the day.

Smart Recovery – Meetings now online

SMART Recovery is a global self-help, mutual aid program that offers a place for people to get together to try to change addictive behaviours that are harmful to themselves and others.Addictive behaviours can include problematic drinking, substance use, gambling, over-eating, shopping and others.

every meeting is run by trained facilitators who will help identify goals and set an achievable plan, focusing on the present and not the past.

In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, meetings are now being held online.
