Calling all artists and photographers! The highly anticipated 2025 Leongatha Art & Photography Show, hosted by the Rotary Club of Leongatha, announces that entry submission for the 2025 Show is now open, until 6:00pm on Friday, December 6, 2024.
Celebrating over 48 illustrious years, this event has evolved into a cornerstone of artistic expression within the Gippsland community. Expanding from its humble origins to a 21-day extravaganza held during the peak of summer in South Gippsland, the show has continuously attracted over 500 exceptional entries annually from local, Victorian, and interstate talents, competing across sixteen distinctive award categories.
This cultural spectacle encompasses a diverse array of artistic mediums, spanning from paintings and photography to sections specifically dedicated to young talents, All Abilities, and an expanding range of captivating 3D works.
Generously supported by our supporting sponsors, the 20245 edition will award over $8,900 in prizes and awards, continuing the tradition of acknowledging and fostering artistic brilliance. Many of our sponsors have remained steadfast supporters of the Art Show, contributing to its flourishing legacy.
The show serves as a magnet for visitors, drawing art enthusiasts and holidaymakers alike to the picturesque region. In 2023, one in five attendees hailed from the bustling Melbourne metropolitan area, while visitors journeyed from across mainland states, Tasmania, and even overseas. The extended three-week showcase in January and February has notably elevated art sales, making exhibited works available for purchase and furthering the appreciation of fine art within our community.
Set within the iconic Leongatha Memorial Hall, located at the corner of McCartin Street and Michael Place in Leongatha, this accessible venue invites visitors from various regions, just 130 kilometers Southeast of Melbourne. Its strategic location caters to art aficionados from Bass Coast, Latrobe Valley, East, West and South Gippsland, ensuring an inclusive and diverse audience.
Beyond the celebration of artistry, the event serves a noble cause. Proceeds generated through art sales commissions, entry fees, and raffle sales contribute significantly to supporting the Rotary Club of Leongatha’s impactful projects on local, national, and international scales. As part of Rotary International and its charitable arm, the Rotary Foundation, the club remains committed to making a difference and fostering positive change.
For artists and art enthusiasts alike, the 2025 Leongatha Art & Photography Show promises an unparalleled experience of creativity, talent, and community spirit. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of this grand celebration!
