The Latrobe Orchestra Presents Dance & Stories

Dances and Stories: An Afternoon of Music and Imagination in Traralgon.
Following a sold-out performance at the end of 2025, music lovers and families alike are invited to experience an afternoon of orchestral storytelling as the Latrobe Orchestra presents Dances and Stories on Sunday 17th May at 2pm, at the delightful Uniting Church, 19-29 Park Lane, Traralgon.
Featuring some of the most beloved and evocative music inspired by legendary tales and timeless dance traditions, audiences will be swept away by the epic sounds of the 50-member orchestra performing Lord of the Rings and the enduring romance of Romeo and Juliet, alongside lively ballet favourites Mother Ginger from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker and the Hungarian Dance No. 5 by Brahms.
The program also features some terrific tangos, including Tripped Up Tango by Gippsland composer Dani Maree Ashmore, promising rhythm, passion, and a contemporary twist.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for those under 17. Cash and card accepted at the door.
Concertgoers are invited to stay after the performance and enjoy afternoon tea, providing an opportunity to meet the musicians and share in the community spirit
