A drama/comedy in One Act – 3 exclusive preview shows in Gippsland before touring Victoria – June 25 at 6pm, 7:15pm & 8:30pm

Married bliss or hit and miss ..
Four vastly different married couples descend on the peaceful country setting of the Paradise Valley Couples Retreat, for a weekend of relationship therapy. Sharing their stories and situations, and revealing their true selves, events unfold to explore their relationships warts and all, giving the audience a glimpse into the character’s private worlds. Will the couples survive counselling, or will the cracks that develop be too deep?

Set in present-day Australia, action plays out over a weekend at the fictional marriage counselling retreat in regional Victoria.

The production is a departure for HT&E’s (Gippsland’s own original theare company) usually extreme, politically-incorrect comedy fare, focusing on realistic relationships and exploring the themes of marriage, commitment and love. Under the guidance of their hosts and councillors, the couples interact and reveal their issues, with the aim of strengthening their individual unions, resulting in some touching moments, comical situations and surprising revelations.

“Couples!” is an insightful and poignant production that anyone who has been married or in a serious relationship can relate to, and serves as a warning not to enter into marriage lightly.

Steve Biddulph presents Raising Boys from birth to adults @ Warragul North Primary School, B.E.R. Building
Jun 22 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

2 hours of hilarity and practical tips for parents, grandparents or anyone else who works with children.
Steve’s live talks have had a remarkable public response. Hilarious, fun, practical, and moving are some of the words used by over 130,000 people over almost 30 years.

Steve Biddulph is one of the world’s best known parent educators. A psychologist for 25 years, he is now retired but continues to write and teach. His books, including The Secret of Happy Children, Raising Boys, The New Manhood and now RAISING GIRLS are in four million homes and 31 languages. They have influenced the way we look at childhood and especially the development of boys and men. Today though, the exploitation and misuse of girls and young women globally are a major focus.

This event is proudly brought to you as part of a tour organised by the Gippsland Presbytery of the Uniting Church in Australia.
